The Thrilled Winter Day
A tour to the most pristine hill station in himachal pradesh. My first winter visit to Himalayas. The city is heaven on earth. A perfect mixture of sightseeing and peaceful atmosphere. We went on a trek for 10 days though a tour agency.
On a day off I and my friends decided to explore few near by places. We went to city's most popular street 'gandhi chowk' and 'subhash chowk'. One gets connected to the local people and their traditional way of living by visiting such places. We then decided to trek to panchpula. Just after crossing gandhi chowk, the weather suddenly changed its path. A sunny day turned into a thrilling windy day. We got in dilemma about continuing the trek or aborting it. But then we gathered our courage and continued the trek. Believe me one should take such risks to explore the real beauty of a place. The atmosphere was foggy, one could see only till 20-30 meters, the dark cloud haunted us, but the beauty of the place was simply mesmerizing.
We reached back safely by night. It was an amazing experience on a thrilling winter day.
The Solitude Beauty
Trek to the Kalatop sanctuary was an unforgettable experience all together. A very thick and dark forest crowns the hilltop and perhaps that is why the place has derived its name as Kalatop which literally means a black cap. The spot really commands a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. One can see the hills, snow-capped mountains, the valleys, the hamlets, the greenery and the ruggedness standing from the place.
